Our Interventions
Strengthening Community Hygiene By Empowering Health Workers

Dev Data Link (DDL), Islamabad, Pakistan, is proud to announce its partnership with the Microbe Literacy Initiative (MLI), New York, USA, to enhance national health security. Together, these organizations aim to strengthen community hygiene by empowering community health workers as master trainers in microbe literacy and infection prevention and control (IPC). This initiative includes conducting community workshops to educate households about infections and prevention techniques, providing hands-on experience with microbes found in everyday environments. By engaging community members—particularly women, who are key to household hygiene—this initiative aims to foster a deeper sense of responsibility for improving health practices, particularly for children. A research study is also in development to assess the intervention’s impact on the health of children under five years of age. The District of Sargodha was selected for this intervention based on the guidance of Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Health. In collaboration with the District Health Authority Sargodha, suitable dates were set, and nominations were secured for the program.
